Donal O'Brien

Biography

A graduate of University College Dublin, Donal is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and a member of the Irish Taxation Institute. He established his own practice in 1984 and merged this practice with that of Jim Harnett in 1990 to form O’Brien Harnett & Associates.

He has a particular interest in the charity and not-for-profit sectors, specifically the changing legislative environment for charities following the implementation of the Charities Act. Over the years he has served on the practicing members committee of Chartered Accountants Ireland and the boards of a number of voluntary bodies. He is currently a trustee of the St. Stephen’s Green Trust CLG charity.

Following the 2017 merger to create Walsh O'Brien Harnett, Donal stepped down as a partner to become a consultant to our firm.
